CANEVAS FATAL is a project launched in 2018 by Gauvain Manhattan that intends to dust off the old fashioned needlepoint imagery and propose a more contemporary alternative.
In collaboration with many talented artists to create our visuals, we intend to bring back canevas as a trend. In the transports, watching Netflix, alone or with friends … Take your Canevas Fatal and half stitch after half stitch make blooming a sublime illustration that will make your grandma jealous !
All our canevas are printed in strict quantities and we do not plan to reprint them once the stock is sold out. It gives each canevas a certain rarity which we really care about.
Our Values
All our canevas are printed in France on a fabric made in Germany in order to reduce transportation as much as possible. The cotton threads we recommend are made by the best manufacturer in the world (DMC) and also produced in the north of France.
We are committed to promoting the work of the artists with whom we collaborate, regardless of their notoriety. We encourage them to offer illustrations from their worlds in order to offer you original and varied collections. Their creativity is the real engine of Canevas fatal !
The art of the canevas has been a bit sacralised, we are aware that this can impress novices. This is why we regularly provide you with tools to learn embroidery techniques on our social networks. It is important for us that the canvas be democratized, and be accessible even to people who have never handled the needle in their life.
