What does “Canevas” mean ?

“Canevas” is the french word we use to call a “printed canvas” and the technique used to stitch it. In english it translates by “needlepoint”.

I am illustrator, how can I show you my work ?

Thanks a lot for your interest in our project ! Unfortunately we are not openned to collaborations and select our artists by ourselves.

How are made your canevas ?

All our canevas are printed by us in France, on a fabric made in Germany. The kits are prepared in our workshop in Nantes, France.

The canevas I wanted is nos available anymore, will you make some again ?

No, all our prints are limited editions and we don’t reprint previous pieces. It gives our canevas a certain rarity and preciousness, which involves taking care of them.

I just ordered a canevas, when will I receive it ?

We usually prepare orders from 1 to 5 days after placing it, sometimes from 1 to 2 weeks when we launch a new collection. You will receive an email with a tracking number. Then we bring the packages once or twice a week and the post will deliver it to you, depending on your location.

I have never stitched a canevas/needlepoint is it hard ?

Not at all ! It is probably the easiest embroidery technique, approachable from 6-8 years old. We traditionnaly use the “half stitch” on all the surface but their are more advanced technics that you can use too.

Are the threads included in your kits ?

The threads are included in our beginners kits, but are optionnal in our bigger kits. While ordering you can choose between the single canevas or add the pack of threads that matches our estimations on colors and quantity.

What type of threads shout I use ?

We recommend the Soft Cotton from DMC and Appletons wool, we build our color charts from them. If they are not available in your country you can look for threads about 2mm thick.

How many skeins should I buy ?

Our recommandations are written on the descriptions of our shop. Keep in mind that these quantities are approximative : the amount of skeins really depends on your embroidery technique. Also you can estimate 1 DMC skein to fill about 10cm² of your canevas, or go to an haberdashery and ask professionnals for advices.

I lost my print ! Can you send it back ?

No worries ! You can download it for free here !

Should I strictly follow your color chart ?

Not at all ! Our charts are made from the original illustrations but you are completely free to use the colors you prefer.

What can I do once my canevas is done ?

You can frame it, make a cushion, a bag, a blanket … And send us nice pictures by email !

Can I wash my canevas ?

Certainly not ! The fabric is not suited for a washing machine and won’t survive. You better not dirty your canevas ans if it is too late … leave the stain.

I’m waiting for my canevas for weeks and it still didn’t arrived, what should I do ?

First thing, you need to check your tracking number on la poste website (check your spam box if you can’t find it on your emails). If the tracking indicates a dysfunction, write us an email as soon as possible and we will make our possible to find solutions. But please be aware that if you write us too late, we won’t be able to solve the shipping issues.
